Taylor Swift kicked off her SPEAK NOW WORLD TOUR today with a sold-out show at Singapore’s Indoor Stadium. She is currently slated to play 90 shows in 19 countries spanning four continents on the TAYLOR SWIFT SPEAK NOW WORLD TOUR 2011.
Fans began arriving at the Stadium more than 24 hours early for the show, which featured the 4-time GRAMMY winner performing on two different stages, playing several different acoustic and electric guitars, and also the piano and the ukulele. Taylor wowed the capacity crowd with a more than 90-minute set that showcased songs from her triple-platinum Speak Now album and also featured several favorites from her previous CDs. The crowd was on its feet the entire evening, which included several costume changes as well as multiple sets, video elements and graphics presentations.
Taylor tweeted after the show: “THAT SHOW RULED!! Thank you Singapore. My band and I love you. And your dancing and jumping and singing and screaming! Good times.”
Taylor is touring the world this year in support of her Triple-Platinum blockbuster Speak Now album, which shattered sales records and sold over a million copies in its first week of release. Taylor’s shows around the globe are selling out within minutes of tickets going on sale, including stadium shows in Boston, Philadelphia and Detroit.
The tour continues with a show on February 11 in Seoul, South Korea and visits several countries in Asia this month before heading to Europe in March. The North American leg of the tour kicks off in May
